Try to use xFast miner (https://minergate.com/downloads/xfast-miner) instead of GUI, it should boost your h/s to 20% more for XMR mining.

Please provide more information on your hardware, coin, the command that you've used to start mining and the time that have passed since you found your PC in a frozen state?

Regarding the numbers on the screenshot. The dashboard data is averaged every 15 minutes. How much time have passed since you've started the test and made that screenshot?

about 30 minutes

HARDWARE: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s), with 8GB RAM.
COIN: XMR
COMMAND: minergate-cli.exe" -u name@email.com --xmr

NOTE: The PC does not freeze. The miner simply produces 0 H/s and keeps printing that to screen in the normal manner. The CPU is is no longer under load. I get the same behavior on a 3rd gen Intel i7 with 16GB RAM.

We didn't manage to repeat this error on different hardware and operational systems. Most likely this is happening because of some OS-native or third party energy management software that prevents your CPUs from overloading. Try to set everything about power management on defaults or use other clean OS to control your mining activity.
