[How To] Start Mining With GPU using Alt.Miner.

Postby Dossis » Sat Feb 06, 2016 1:45 pm

I'm going through the basics of how to run alternative miner for AMD or NVIDIA GPU's.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
[Downloading the right mining software]
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to: https://minergate.com/altminers/claymore-gpu and select right alt. miner.

Claymore CryptoNote GPU miner - Miner for AMD GPU's
ccminer-cryptonight by tsiv - Miner for NVIDIA GPU's

----------------------------------------------------------------------
[Unpack the archive]
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unpack the archive you just downloaded. Some antivirus softwares might see it as an virus, but this is an false alarm.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
[Making the .bat file]
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Make a new .txt file called: "Run"

For AMD GPU's copy paste the following command in it:

NsGpuCNMiner -o stratum+tcp://bcn.pool.minergate.com:45550 -u YOUR_EMAIL -p x

pause

For NVIDIA GPU's copy paste the following command in it:

ccminer -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://bcn.pool.minergate.com:45550 -u YOUR_EMAIL -p x

pause

If you don't want to mine BCN, you can find addresses for other coins from here:

https://minergate.com/faq/what-pool-address

----------------------------------------------------------------------
[Saving the .bat file]
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Save the file you just made as "run.bat". Notice that it's extension is .bat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
[PROFIT]
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Double click "run.bat" you just made, and you should be mining.

Try this one: http://cryptomining-blog.com/2953-updated-ccminer-fork-for-cryptonight-with-better-performance/

It's what I'm using. I'm thinking you're using some fork that doesn't have cryptonight support.
